The Alexander & Buono Festival of Music (ABFM) is a ten-day intensive program of study and performance for classical musicians of all ages interested in honing repertoire and enhancing technique. The Festival will hold its twenty-second annual session in the spa city of Abano Terme, Italy, home to hot springs and mud baths dating back to ancient Rome. Abano was also a favorite retreat of the great pianist Arturo Rubenstein, who enjoyed spending time there between concertizing.
ABFM will begin Saturday July 3, 2010, and continue through Monday July 12, 2010. It will include master classes for Voice, Piano, Flute, and other instruments, taught by distinguished professors from the United States and Europe, as well as concerts by Festival participants, and guest artists, during the evening.
In addition to study and performance, the Festival will feature daily seminars called “The Business of Music,” designed to help artists plan their careers using solid business and media strategies. Optional sightseeing tours and lectures are also available in order to provide visitors with a sense of the history surrounding this beautiful and historically important region, which includes Padua and Venice.
The Festival is open not only to musicians, but also those interested in touring the region as lovers of music, art, and history, and attending the many concerts that are performed as part of the Festival.
