The Alexander & Buono Festival of Music (ABFM) is a ten-day intensive program of study and performance for classical musicians of all ages interested in honing repertoire and enhancing technique. The twenty-second annual session of the Festival was held this year in the spa city of Abano Terme, Italy, home to hot springs and mud baths dating back to ancient Rome.
The 2010 Festival was held July 3-12 and included master classes for Voice, Piano, and Flute, taught by the musicians listed on the Faculty page.
ABFM is open not only to musicians, but also those interested in touring the region as lovers of music, art, and history, and attending the many concerts that featuring Festival participants.
In addition to study and performance, the Festival featured seminars called “The Business of Music,” which are designed to help artists plan their careers using solid business and media strategies. Optional sightseeing tours this year included dinner in Verona, followed by a performance of Aïda at the famous Arena di Verona, as well as a barge trip to view selected villas in Padua.
The Festival is open not only to musicians, but also those interested in touring the region as lovers of music, art, and history.
